Walking Bus project (pedibus) in Bonnevoie, Belair and Gasperich for the 2021-2022 school year.

No more illegal parking on pavements or pedestrian crossings around schools! At the start of the school terms in September 2021 and January 2022, the City launched the walking bus pilot project in three city districts. The walking bus picks up pupils enrolled in Cycle 1.1 and up from different locations and safely escorts them to school. For the start of the 2022–2023 school year, the Walking Bus project will be expanded to Gasperich.

The Walking Bus operates exactly like a traditional school bus, only without a vehicle.

The main objectives of the Walking Bus initiative are to unclog traffic lanes around schools by cutting down on individual car use, and to educate children from a young age about road safety around schools and environmental protection.

The Walking Bus also has a positive social impact, allowing children to walk to school with their friends under adult supervision.
